Origin & Sourcing

Boonville, California

In the coastal California county of Mendocino, 100 miles north of San Francisco, the hills are twined with grapevines that produce a perfect Pinot Noir. Here, in the sunny Anderson Valley where the climate is tempered by cool marine air, you’ll find Boonville Barn Collective. This woman-owned farm has been producing unique chile powders for more than a decade. The collective grows, hand-picks, dries, and grinds chile peppers into spices using sustainable agricultural techniques. Their goal is to produce healthy food without compromising future generations’ ability to do the same. The farm is Renegade certified, and they grow crops with organic growing practices.

Chef Spotlight

With Chef Trent - Founder

Trent Blodgett's journey started from battling chronic depression to finding solace and purpose in cooking. Trained to cook at an upscale Spanish restaurant in San Francisco led to a chef position running large events and pop up dinners throughout the Bay Area. Immersed in the captivating world of flavors and scents, Trent became fascinated by the history and cultural influences of cuisine.

Driven by his newfound passion, Trent embarked on extensive travels, collecting spices that reminded him of the diverse culinary experiences he encountered. Cooking became his medicine and meditation, transforming his outlook on life. This transformative journey led Trent to establish Spice Tribe, a platform to share his spice blends, stories, and the belief that a shift in cooking perspective can profoundly impact one's existence.

SPICE TRIBE IS THE BEST SPICE DISTRIBUTION COMPANY ON THE MARKET

I'd never heard of a Comapeño Chile, and it's now my favorite. I even dipped Cheetos into it yesterday. No judgement please.

Comapeño chiles taste like very spicy piquillo peppers, which are my favorite roasted and jarred peppers. All 20+ spices and spice blends that I bought from Spice Tribe are excellent. They beat the hell out of all the other touted spice companies.
