this hot sauce is great! it reminds me of the flavors of my country's cuisine, I haven't had a rocoto hot sauce this flavorful that taste as fresh and pure as this one with the a perfect mild heat so it doesn't burn my mouth. Also it has no additive nor preservative, crazy good!!
As a hot sauce enthusiast, I've enjoyed the spectrum from the Srirachas to the Cholula's, Tabasco to the Tapatios, Truffs to where the Hot Ones collection meets Melinda's, and yet, there is a special place for Spice Tribe's Roco Hot sauce.
It's probably the cleanest hot sauce in the market with only 3 ingredients - no crummy fillers like xantham gum, natural flavors, dextrose or whatever hot sauce makers put to pad their bottomline or preserve the hot sauce better.
Also, never tried the Rocoto pepper before and it's surprisingly pleasing on the palette, not too hot but packs a punch, especially. the addictive aftertaste. Probably the first time I have seen this pepper used in a hot sauce, with plantain vinegar that adds natural sweetness to the heat.
This has become my go-to sauce from pizza to falafel, and everything in between.
It's also great value at 10 oz, as most other hot sauces are half that size.
Tip: Store in the refrigerator, since it doesn't have any preservatives.
For a hot sauce that only has three ingredients, this has an amazing amount of flavor. I put it on everything from breakfast sandwiches to arroz con pollo. Highly recommended!!
This sauce is mild enough to use on everything, with great flavor. The plantain vinegar is distinctive in a very good way, but starting to dominate in a less good way. I shake the bottle each time I open it so I’d expect a consistent blend of flavors, but the vinegar flavor seems to get more prominent and the pepper flavor milder as I get closer to the bottom of the bottle.
