Cali Love and Pizza

  1. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go, usually between 450°F (230°C) and 500°F (260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating. If not, a large baking sheet will work.

  2. Take the dough out of the refrigerator about 20-30 minutes before you plan to use it, allowing it to come to room temperature. This makes it easier to handle and stretch.

  3. Dust your working surface with a little flour or cornmeal to prevent sticking. Place the dough on the surface and start pressing it down with your hands, working from the center outwards, to form a round shape. You can use a rolling pin if necessary, but using your hands will help maintain a light, airy texture. If the dough springs back, let it rest for a few minutes and then continue. Aim for a thickness of about 1/4 inch. If you like a thicker crust, leave a bit more dough around the edges.

  4. If using a pizza stone, sprinkle cornmeal on a pizza peel or the back of a baking sheet to transfer the pizza. If using a baking sheet, you can assemble the pizza directly on the sheet. Transfer the stretched dough onto the prepared surface. Brush the edges of the dough lightly with olive oil.

  5. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Sprinkle California Love Spice Blend over the sauce. Add your desired toppings evenly over the cheese. Season with a pinch of salt and some dried oregano for extra flavor.

  6. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden. The exact time will depend on your oven and the thickness of your pizza.

  7. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes on a wire rack. This helps to keep the crust crispy. Slice and serve hot.

Feel free to customize your pizza with different sauces, cheeses, and toppings based on your preferences. Enjoy your homemade pizza!
