Golden Turmeric Milk (Haldi Milk, Ayurvedic)
Turmeric milk is a traditional Ayurvedic beverage made by mixing turmeric root and crushed long pepper, known as pipli, into hot or warm full fat milk. Also known as Haldi doodh, it's an age-old Ayurvedic remedy used to treat colds, congestion, coughs, wounds, and other ailments. The main compound in turmeric is curcumin.
Turmeric milk is believed to have calming properties, primarily due to its potential to reduce inflammation and soothe the nervous system. Many people find that drinking warm turmeric milk before bedtime can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality.
