Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Sauté the chopped onion and cook until it becomes slightly caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Sauté the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, being careful not to let it brown.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes. Stir to combine with the onions and garlic.
- Add the Spice Tribe's Aged Anchovy Salt and Porcini Paradiso Italian Blend. Stir to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
- Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to blend it to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the fresh basil leaves (if using) and serve with pasta or anything else!
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve over your favorite pasta.
- Used as a base for pizza.
- Add to meatballs or use as a dipping sauce.
- Chicken Parmesan
