These three spice blends are what I consider to be the foundation of Puerto Rican cuisine and I’m so proud to share them with you! I consider introducing people to and educating them about Puerto Rico, its vibrant culture, and our flavor-packed food an important aspect of my ongoing culinary journey. Puerto Rican cuisine is a beautiful combination of West African, Spanish, and indigenous Taíno foods and cooking methods; and learning more about each of these influences has inherently shaped and strengthened my connection to my ancestors in the kitchen. Witnessing the impact that these three cultures and cuisines have had throughout the diaspora has taught me that we simply share more in common than one would think.
